SA BOTRA is conducting the 2021 Yearling Sale at Globe Derby Park on Sunday 14 March. Yearlings that do not go through the SA Yearling Sale can be made eligible for the Silver Salver Race Series by nominating as “Non Sale” entries.
The “Silver Salver” Race Series announces significant and positive changes for 2022.
1. There will be combined $10,000 Heats for Fillies, Colts and Geldings. These heats (with a maximum of 8 runners per heat) will introduce a new prize money distribution as follows:
- First – 20%
- Second – 16%
- Third – 14%
- Fourth – 12%
- Fifth – 11%
- Sixth – 10%
- Seventh – 9%
- Eighth – 8%
The committee believe this is a positive step for our industry and allows runners to receive a minimum of $800 for contesting a heat.
2. Finals of $50,000 for Fillies and $50,000 for Colts and Geldings will be run in preference to the $100,000 one-off race (prize money splits as follows).
- First – 50%
- Second – 14%
- Third – 9%
- Fourth – 5%
- Fifth – 4%
- Unplaced – 3%
SA BOTRA, in support of the SA breeding industry, is providing an additional $30,000 of cash bonus incentives split $15,000 to the first SA born Filly and $15,000 to the first SA born Colt/Gelding. These incentives will be paid to the (SA Born) horses finishing first past the post in each final (a new RACE within the RACE format).
Note: All owners of participating horses must be fully paid up BOTRA-SA members to receive these bonuses.
Non sale Entries for the SA Born close on Friday 12 March at 5pm.
A late nomination is available to all other yearlings until Friday 30 April. This entry fee is $2500 for both SA born and other Australian bred yearlings.
