Vale Len Sugars

South Australian Hall Of Famer Len Sugars sadly passed away on September 18.

Len Sugars aged 96 is survived by his four children Lynette, Christine, Ross, Max and their families.

Sugars drove his first winner in 1948 but it was in the 1960s and early 70s at Wayville that his stable became a household name. That success followed the family with Ross being named a Living Legend of Australian Harness Racing in 2015.

Len was a great supporter of SA BOTRA and until the last couple of years had always attended BOTRA’s Xmas In July.

In 2017 Len joined his son Ross in the grandstand at the return to Wayville, the track he had dominated as a driver in the 60’s and 70’s he was thrilled to watch his grandson Greg win the Wayville Pacing Cup on Heza Presidente.at that track in 2017.

Rest In Peace one of the true legends of South Australian Harness Racing.
