Smart Three-year-old gelding Justanextragrand (by Changeover) notched his second feature win and extended his winning sequence to five when he took out the Garrard’s Horse and Hound SA St Leger at Globe Derby Park on October 30.
The three-year-old sat parked throughout the 2230 metre trip, but dug deep in the dying stages to prevail in a head bobbing finish.
The mile rate was 2:00 flat with the final 800 in a slick 56.9 seconds.
A fortnight earlier Justanextragrand won the SA Sires Produce Stakes. He has won eight of his 15 starts this season for former leading trainer Aaron Brown.
