The June 5 theme for Globe Derby could have been named after the Alicia Keys song “GIRLS ON FIRE” after all seven races were won by lady drivers.  Gaita Pullicino scored a treble with Illusionation, who made it seven wins in row, she also steered Bet Im Special and Thebattlesjusbegun to victory.

Leading driver Dani Hill also chimed in with a treble. She won both the trotters races on Ceejay Success and Gatesys Alley as well as the fast class race on  Joes A Character.

Tiana McMahon won the other race on Uncle Leo to make a perfect score card for GIRL POWER.

Yvette Zitterbart and Rebecca Geurds also added to the girl’s big night out on the training side. Zitterbart winning with short course specialist Joes A Character and Geurds with Thebattlesjusbegun in Heat 8 of the Mitavite Scamper Series. Thebattlesjusbegun heads the leader board of the Scamper Series with the $14,999 final scheduled for June 26.

Geurds had the niche to turn Thebattlesjusbegun’s form around in the short course races having won two heats in row.
