Harness Racing Associations Unite
THE INDUSTRY HAS A UNITED VOICE
ASSOCIATIONS MEET AND AGREE TO WORK TOGETHER

Last week, HRSA facilitated a meeting between SA BOTRA, The Trainers and Drivers Association and The Square Trotters Association with the aim of bringing the three associations together to work on issues and strategies going forward to improve our product.
All three parties agreed to unite, work together and become the voice of the industry.
The Key areas of focus will be on increasing: –
- Ownership
- Breeding
- Training
- Drivers
Discussions centred on working with the current horse pool population, creating racing initiatives to maximise wagering, and growth in the future.
The three parties will meet within the next two weeks to cement the structure and work on implementing strategies going forward, these will then be escalated to HRSA for approval etc.
HRSA Chairman George Fiacchi commented: – “This another key piece of the puzzle to unite the industry, there are so many clever people out there who get drowned out by all the noise, they now have an association that will coordinate their thoughts and escalate to HRSA.”
“We HRSA need to increase our market share to be able to increase prizemoney to levels the industry deserves, this will require the entire harness racing industry to work together for this to be achieved and sustained in the future.”
