Local South Australian owners and breeders came away from Melton’s Super Vicbred New Year’s Eve meeting no doubt with mixed emotions.
Tyson Linke’s super filly Encipher after drawing wide was gallant in defeat finishing second in the 2yo fillies Final.
Powderkeg bred and owned by Geoff Easom’s Wyndown Stud was also runner up in the 4yo trotters Final. Powderkeg started favourite after being successful in his Semi-Final.
Mark Carey who bred Joanne who finished a credible fourth in the 3yo fillies classic, while Carey was robbed of having a runner in the 2yo colts & geldings final when Repelling, who was a winner of the Vicbred Super Series semi-final, was withdrawn from the Group 1 Final.
Congratulations also to David Batty who had two runners in finals Elegant and the two-year-old trotter Mercenary unfortunately both finished down the track.
