What a weekend for team Linke

What a weekend for Kadina breeder and owner Tyson Linke. Not only did his super three-year-old filly Encipher score by 54 metres, in the South Australian Oaks on May 14, she also smashed the all-aged track record!

Then on Sunday at harness Breeders Victoria’s awards for 2021, Encipher took out the two-year-old Filly of the Year Award. Other nominees for this award, was South Australian owned Just Hope, who races in the colours of Terry and Rosalie Cluse, and Irish Black Label.

Late last year Encipher was crowned Australian two-year-old filly of the year in HRA’s National awards.

But now the star Captaintreacherous filly has started her three-year-old season with a bang, smashing the track record in her home state. What lies ahead for the filly named after a cryptic word used on the world wide web? Google has this example: Web To protect sensitive communications traveling along public pathways, the senders enciphered—or encrypted—their words, often using machines that could replace each letter with a new letter

The SA Oaks became a race against the clock as caller Lachlan Stace “All eyes on the clock here” Stace added “I’m very curious to see what this mile Rate will be” well Lachlan, the three-year-old rated an unbelievable 1:524 over 1800 metres, slashing a second-and-a-half from Mark Dennis’ record established in September 2016!

Encipher will have another short break but we will see her back in Adelaide for the Southern Cross. Other big races on the agenda, are likely to be the Breeders’ Crown and Vicbred just like last season, as well as the Victoria Oaks.”
