What’s New At Globe

Well the time is getting closer, not long now and the finals of all those special races will culminate with some lucky owners having bragging rights for the SA Cup , SA Trotters Cup, and 3year old Derby. What a great series it has been with all of the clubs conducting Cups and Derbies. We have had Port Pirie, Gawler, Mt Gambier, Victor Harbour, and Kapunda, with all the winners assembling for the finals at Globe Derby.

SAHRC are delighted to have the finals held at Globe Derby and have worked extremely hard to make sure everything is ship shape. In the stall area Kaye has painted all the rails, Lane has sprayed, and pressure cleaned every nook and cranny, with the spraying out came every spider, bug and anything else that was there much to Kaye’s horror.

Lane pruned the roses exactly to the day that gives the best blooms time to open.

The Jubilee room has been cleaned from top to bottom. The Trotters Association are conducting a BBQ in this area on SA Cup night. With SA BOTRA doing it on Saturday nights after the cup so make sure you support these fund-raising BBQ’s by these associations. All windows have been cleaned.

Lane has worked tirelessly on the track. Informing you of all this work we hope that all our members and trainers please respect our facilities and leave the area clean and tidy as well as pick up your rubbish and DON’T tip your molasses on the ground it brings flies and mosquitoes, use the drain that is there for this to be tipped down

Dining in the Paceway restaurant is by booking only so be early.

Remember it is your club as well so please support it and look after it.

With the bistro open every day, we are preparing many more meals but would like to see some more support from the members of the club.

Saturday night dining is moving up to the Committee room with new menus so please try and remember to book so that we are aware of how many we need to cater for. We have purchased a new deep fryer for this area which now allows us to prepare all food in the Paceway area.

There will be no take away food available on a Saturday night but as I explained previously there will be a BBQ in the Jubilee room for all take away food.

If this write-up isn’t delivered before the SA Cup night, we hope you enjoyed your night and congratulations to all the winners.

Again, the committee and members of SAHRC would like to thank SA BOTRA for allowing us to bring you “What’s New at Globe”.

Regards

SAHRC Committee
