Emerging sires set to make mark at SA yearling sale

The progeny of several exciting, young stallions will be showcased at the Silver Salver SA Yearling Sale to be held on Sunday, March 27 at Globe Derby Park.

Downbytheseaside, the leading first crop sire in North America last year and second on the two-year-old stakemoney list behind Captaintreacherous, will be represented by a colt at the sale.

Always B Miki, who was the leading first season sire in America in 2020 and Australia in 2021, is also singlely represented.

Art Major, who headed the Australian two-year-old list on a record seven occasions, and highly successful sires in A Rocknroll Dance, Sunshine Beach and Betterthancheddar each have one entry.

Major Secret, Art Major’s Derby winning son, has the biggest draft with six – three colts and three fillies – from his second crop.

Yearlings will be eligible for a two-year-old Sales race in 2023.

On Line pedigrees will be available by Friday February 4.

Printed copies of the catalogue will be available for distribution from February 16.
